Hello! I am Dr. Andréa Fuzimoto
I am a clinician and researcher working with Holistic and Integrative Medicine (HIM) applied to chronic diseases for over 25 years. This approach allows me to do something that I LOVE! … Transform people’s health by evaluating dysfunctional systems and pathways, addressing the root problems, and by using natural, gentle, and effective tools to support health. Conditions that I often see include gastrointestinal, neurological, and immunological conditions. I have multiple official specialities and certifications such Functional Nutrigenomics, Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Neuro-Scalp Acupuncture, Multiple Sclerosis, and others. Apart from my private practice, I have worked and trained in centers of excellence such as the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) at the Stroke Clinic and the Zhu Neuro-Acupuncture and Rehabilitation Center. As a researcher, I have trained and worked at Stanford University Medical School (Division of Pain Medicine) with NIH-funded clinical trials. I am a peer-reviewed published author and a Elsevier Certified Peer-Reviewer collaborating with several scientific journals providing specialized revision of manuscripts in Integrative Medicine. OUR SERVICES
During Dr. Fuzimoto’s 1 1/2 hour consultation option, she will review your health history and most recent lab exams, evaluate your case according to Traditional and Functional Medical knowledge, discuss your health goals, recommend additional specialty lab exams to better investigate the issues, and strategize the best therapeutic options to help you attain those goals. This complete evaluation is not to diagnose or treat any diseases, but to understand the dysfunctional patterns that are happening to properly design a recovery plan. Follow up options range from 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on the needs.
We protect your privacy: When you become a client, your health information is stored in a HIPAA, PIPEDA, and GDPR compliant Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. Communications through videos (Telehealth), messaging, and alerts through our platform/app are also HIPAA compliant. Through our app, your will be able to follow your designed health programs, keep up with nutritional suggestions, and create a journal to help you attain your health goals! FUNCTIONAL NUTRIGENOMICS
We use Functional Nutrigenomics Analysis testing to identify where gene variants may be contributing to enzyme and nutritional deficiencies which may potentially lead to, for example, oxidative stress, increased inflammation, poor digestion, detoxification problems, neurotransmitter imbalances, increased stress, anxiety and depression, reduced mitochondrial function, to site a few examples. The Functional Nutrigenomics test and evaluation does not diagnose, treat, or predict any diseases, it is not a medical test interpreted by geneticists, and it does not contain ancestry information.
WHEN IS IT USEFUL?
Functional Nutrigenomics Analysis is very helpful for anyone, but it is especially good when a person has a chronic condition and needs a more targeted in-depth approach to uncover individual biochemistry nutritional processes. This helps determine which specialty labs could be used to confirm dysfunctions and to tailor nutritional and supplemental suggestions. Thus, Functional Nutrigenomics take the guessing out of the equation to support your health.
HERBAL MEDICINE
We use herbs and/or herbal compounds to assist in organ systems functional recovery. We may use the rationality of Evidence-Based knowledge to do that, and/or use the rationality of Traditional Medicine, especially Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Either way, we use companies that provide certified and high-quality products to assist in your back-to-health goals.

Acupuncture uses very fine solid needles made of stainless steel that are inserted in specific points of the body. The needles are sterile and discarded after a single use. The Acupuncture points are distributed along meridians where, according to Traditional Medicine, "Qi" or "vital energy" flows. We use systemic Acupuncture, Acupuncture Micro-Systems, and/or Electro-Acupuncture to balance these meridians which influence the functional status of internal organ systems. The Acupuncture Micro-Systems that we use include Auricular Acupuncture and Scalp Acupuncture. The choice of which Acupuncture style will be determined according to what works best for specific situations. There are different needle types, super fine needles for those who may be sensitive, pellets and seeds for those who do not wish needle insertion, and even non-needle techniques (Acupressure).
NEURO-SCALP ACUPUNCTURE
Neuro-Scalp Acupuncture is a modality of Acupuncture that inserts fine needles in the scalp muscle layer. The insertions are very superficial, painless, and have shown in research to help especially in neurological conditions such as stroke, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), neuropathies, and many others.
Dr. Fuzimoto studied and got certified with the founder of the Zhu Neuro-Scalp Acupuncture modality, Dr. Zhu Ming Qing. After certification, she also interned and worked with him in his clinic for over one year to learn his techniques. The Zhu Scalp Acupuncture is a famous and powerful Acupuncture Micro-System that not only uses Scalp Acupuncture to address neurological conditions, but it combines with other techniques such as body movements and exercises to potentiate its action.
SPECIALTY LABS
We use the best specialty labs in the U.S. to gives us more information on the individual dysfunctional patterns. Some of the laboratories that we use include Genova, Real Times Labs, Mosaic Diagnostics (formerly Great Plains Labs), Cyrex Labs, iGenex, Diagnostechs, Functional Genomics Analysis (FGA), Labcorp, and others. The results from these lab exams are not used to diagnose or treat any diseases. They give support to elaborate a functional health program recovery.

Chronic diseases are multi-factorial. Therefore, it is important to evaluate if and which lifestyle and environmental factors may be a piece of the puzzle obstructing health recovery. Chronic stress can induce epigenetic changes. An imbalanced emotional health can trigger and worsen diseases. Nutrition can impact inflammation and pain levels. Some people can deal better with Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) than others. Pollutants and environmental toxins can greatly affect health. Some people have a big problem detoxifying. So, it is important to evaluate the person individually to tailor an appropriate health program. After you understand the factors that are impeding your health recovery and have an individualized health program, we provide coaching services to help you follow the plan.
APPOINTMENTS: Currently, we are providing remote services (California residents). If you are a first-time client, after you make the appointment, you will be directed to pay, and then to our platform to fill out the forms, and prepare for the first appointment.
First Appointment (1 1/2 hour): $450 USD
This includes a review of your health history and most recent lab exams, evaluate your case according to Traditional and Functional Medicine, discuss your health goals, recommend additional specialty lab exams to better investigate the issues, and strategize the best therapeutic options to help you attain your health goals. If speciality labs are ordered, the follow up (30 minutes) to discuss functional aspects of results are included.
Follow Up (1 hour): $250 USD
For current clients who need more time to discuss functional problems. If you are a returning client who has not been seen for a long time, we may request that you go through the first evaluation again.
Coaching session (40 minutes): $150
For current clients who are following a health program.
Follow up (30 minutes): $120 USD
For current clients who need a functional evaluation of lab results.
Payment: payment is done through a payment platform using a credit card. Health Insurance Companies do not pay for Functional Nutrigenomics, Functional Health Evaluations, Health Programs, Herbal Medicine, or Nutraceuticals.
